“Map the Vote” is a group of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professionals committed to using the tools of our trade to enhance citizen participation in the electoral arena and thereby strengthen our democracy. Map The Vote founder Patrick DeTemple worked on the Obama Campaign in 2007 and 2008 as the California and Texas Data Manager in the primaries, working on the National organizing project in Chicago to develop the best practices to be deployed in the General Election, as the General Election Director for the state of Alaska and then leading the Mid Missouri campaign in the final weeks of before the election.

The Map The Vote network was mobilized to assist the substantial GIS efforts that the Obama campaign made over the past two years while continuing to serve its existing clients.
